City Green Light wins the Award for the Best Project in the field of Sustainability.
The award was accepted by Tomaso Naldi, Business Unit Director Northern Italy, and Claudio De Domenico, Project Manager, Business Unit Northern Italy.
The award highlights a project launched in 2020 under the CONSIP Servizio Luce 4 framework, which saw City Green Light engaged in the management and upgrading of public lighting in the city of Genoa, with a total investment of €34 million over a nine-year period.
To date, over 50,000 out of 58,000 lighting points have been converted to LED technology, enabling a 70% reduction in energy consumption and an overall saving of approximately 14,000 tons of CO₂. Furthermore, thanks to improved service efficiency, citizen reports of malfunctions have decreased by 46% over five years.
The project also includes highly innovative elements such as “Genova Future City Map“, dedicated to the mapping of urban assets through remote sensing, and ‘Lighting for Genoa,’ which enhanced nine historic city center squares with LED scenic lighting, also winning the LUCI Cities & Lighting Awards 2024.
An initiative that makes Genoa a model Smart City, where environmental sustainability, innovation, and the enhancement of urban heritage come together in a long-term development vision.
